You know the way the sun shines through the clouds in the sky and the light that shines through can be seen in visible rays.  Well, I’ve come to realize that God is speaking to me through that light.  The rays that shine through are brighter than the light around it and this is one of the most beautiful sights I could ever imagine.  I see the love of my Father in the mornings that I wake up and see the sky paint this magnificent picture for me.  It’s a unique way that God shows me he loves me.

A few years ago I started a blog because God was teaching me how to dream without fear.  He was birthing new hope and desires in my soul.  Desires to see the world and travel, desires to meet people from all over the globe, and a desire to see these people know God, whom I know intimately, and experience his love.

I started walking down a new road because of this decision.  A road that was tiring and rocky, where my feet grew weary. A road that led up mountains that I was afraid to climb on my own.  But as I looked to my right I saw Jesus taking me by the hand leading me over these obstacles and through the parts where I didn’t have enough strength to walk alone. And to my left I saw my community who was willing to support and encourage me through the trials, who were walking the same road but in their own unique directions.

Through this process I came to know my God as Father but not only as father but as Daddy or Abba.  I also came to see myself the way my Father, who loves me more than anything in the world, sees me.  I saw the beauty he bestowed upon creation in the rocks and the trees, as well as in the smiles of his people.  He showed me that surrender is the most beautiful act of all because it leads to his design of dependence on him for all things.  Because he can provide.

One of these dreams was going to England.  He gave me a heart for a nation that he desperately wants to call his own.

Through my time with Adventures in Missions at the Center for Global Action I was led to apply for an internship in Manchester England with Jesus Culture’s Campus Awakening ministry.  So I followed Jesus’ lead and applied and now I have been accepted.

In September, Lord willing, I will leave for nine months in Manchester.  I will be an intern for Campus Awakening and partake in serving with the church Vinelife Manchester.  I will spend my weeks doing various administrative tasks and building relationships with the university students in the area.  I get to help pour into and build relationships with the students of Manchester and show them the love of God.  I couldn’t be more excited.

I also will be partnering with Adventures in Missions and the World Race Fusion that is launching next year. (More about this to come next week, hopefully).

I’ve learned that dreaming involves risk.  But in faith there is little to no risk because God always provides.  Often times he provides through community and I have a few things I need from those of you who are wanting to be a part of my new adventure.

I have a lot of prayer requests that I am asking you to partner with me in:

  • I need housing in Manchester (ASAP)
  • I need to apply for a VISA (but I need my address to do this)
  • That God would provide the finances

I have been working this past summer in Georgia and am saving money for this internship but I also need people who are interested in partnering with me financially.  My goal at this point is to raise $13,500 for the nine months, which breaks down to $1500 a month.  If you are interested in being a monthly partner or wanting to give a one time tax-deductable donation, feel free to email me and I will tell you how you can go about that. ([email protected])

I’m looking for 3 monthly supporters of $100, 4 monthly supporters of $75, 10 monthly supporters of $50, and 16 supporters of $25 a month.  Please pray and ask the Lord if this is a way that you could support me while I am gone.

Keep posted for future updates!
