Moldova is a beautiful country located to the East of Romania and South of Ukraine. For month ten of my race my team and team BeRadical have been working alongside Campus Crusade in the capital city of Chisinau. In the midst of the crazy taxis and buses flying across the street we have made ourselves a cozy little home in the coldest country we've been to on the race.
With average temperatures in the 40's and 50's we experienced slight culture shock on arrival having spent our previous nine months in heat that is close to 100 degrees. But we have made due buying goodies at second hand stores and layering our whole wardrobe on our bodies at one time. The thirteen of us with the addition of one squad leader are living in a cozy, cute 3 bedroom house on the outskirts of the city. We daily take a mini-bus (15 passenger van holding WAY more than 15 people) into the heart of the city to participate in ministry.

Our first and main week of ministry this month was during the first full week of October and included an English Club with nearly 100 high school and University age students that were taught by our teams. We paired off in our teams to find a co-teacher for each class where we went through conversational English within the different classes.

My co-teacher happened to be my logistics partner Jess Metel (oh yeah did I mention I stepped into the role of Logistics leader for the last two months of my race? Oops). We had a class of roughly 15 girls who showed up daily with bright and eager faces ready to learn and share life with us. It was a joy to be a part of this ministry and I loved getting to know the wonderful girls in our class.

Throughout the week we discussed the five dimensions of a person going through the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual aspects of a human. We sang songs, watched videos, played games and even danced in an effort to help these students learn and practice English. Each day we had an opportunity to share an aspect of our own story, which often times involved the gospel.

To end our week of English Club we had a group wide scavenger hunt throughout the city. We spent our Saturday morning running around filming ourselves doing silly things for points and capturing many laughs and jokes on camera. It was a fun filled morning with many adventures and memories.

This has been our life and ministry in Chisinau, see you soon Romania.
