Dear Friends and Family,

As you already may (or may not) know, in July 2015 I will be embarking on a year-long missions-adventure called the World Race. I thought that you might be interested in my trip, and felt that I could reach out to you for prayers and support.

As I have matured (don’t laugh, Mom), I have become more keenly aware of the overabundance of blessings in my life – a fact for which I thank the Lord Above as often as it crosses my mind. I first observed this circumstance in school, where students and their families find various ways to fund education. Then, whilst studying abroad, I discovered just how blessed I am to live in the United States where I have the freedom of choice; specifically the freedom to worship the God I love. But the things that I believe I have taken most for granted are the quantity, quality, and variety of media through which I have had the opportunity to hear of and experience God’s unconditional love for me.

These experiences (along with so many others) gave me a feeling of unease when considering the conditions in which the vast majority of God’s children live. I feel that God has called me to go out and meet these children firsthand – to gain the experience of having served in the mission field – so that when I return I might have a deeper understanding and a broader knowledge of what it means to be one of His children and what truly is needed to feed His sheep.

Enter the World Race.

The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. (For more information regarding the countries we will be serving, see my blog – link below.) Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

What I would like to ask of you, first and foremost, is that you pray for me, for my team, and for those with whom and to whom we will be carrying the Good News. Second, please let me know if you think of anyone you feel would be interested, whom I may not have contacted; or feel free to pass along this information to them. Finally, as you can imagine, an adventure of this magnitude is not an inexpensive journey. In order to be fully funded by July, I must raise $16,250. My initial reaction to that number was much the same as yours. Keep in mind that these funds will be what I live off of for 11 months. As such, I ask that you support me in this endeavor – in whatever capacity you feel called to do so. Prayers are requested; financial support is deeply appreciated.

In Christ’s Love,

Drew

I have broken down the cost to provide a few suggestions for sponsorship:

$16,250/335 days = $49 ~ If you would like to support my work in honor of a loved one, make a gift to sponsor the gospel on their birthday. Or perhaps you could sponsor the day that you first made your profession of faith, or were baptized. Or, for the parents out there, maybe you could give thanks to the Lord for the blessing of raising your children in a country where you can teach them about Christ’s love by sponsoring me for their birthdays. What other days are special to you?

$16,250/48 weeks = $339 ~ Perhaps you met the Lord during the week of Vacation Bible School, and would like to sponsor the gospel for more of God’s children for a week of the next year. It could be that you recall a week that you spent in the mission field, and the impact that it had on those whom you served.

$16,250/11 months = $1,478 ~ Maybe you have ancestors from on of the countries I will be visiting, and you would like to sponsor the Word of God to the people with whom you share a common origin. Or maybe there is a specific country that is close to your heart for another reason. Or perhaps your birthday, your spouse’s birthday, your anniversary, and your kids’ birthdays all fall in the same month, and you would like to sponsor that month as a family. Another possibility might be that your business would like to sponsor a particular country or a specific month.

If you would like to (do not feel obligated), please feel free to reach out to me via one of the media above, and let me know which day(s)/week(s)/month(s) you have sponsored – I would love to know on whose behalf I carry the gospel each day.
