We are now into our first week of ministry here in the Philippines, and with my new team.  So far I am loving it here.  We got to spend a few days in Manila with the rest of the squad resting and getting to know our way around before my team traveled south to Malaybalay, on the southernmost island of Mindanao here in the Philippines.  I never thought I would say this, but it’s has been good to be in a place with a McDonalds.

Things have also started out well with my new team.  It has been good getting to know new people and doing ministry with them.  It has been a little different working with another team, since there are two teams here in Malaybalay this month.  It has made it a little difficult to focus solely on those on my team like in the past few months.

This month we are all partnering with an organization called Kids International Ministry.  They do any kind of Kids ministry you can think of.  We are staying at a kids home where about 25 kids live, from 6 months to 15 years old.  A lot of our time is spent helping with the kids.  We have also had an opportunity to do some construction work, which I have really enjoyed having something physical to do for a change.  Brandon and I have even stepped up to take a few shifts in the nursery which usually turns into a complete mess but it’s still fun.

On Sunday we had the chance to go into town and watch the Manny Pacquiao boxing match with a few thousand of the local people.  It was amazing to see how much respect the people here have for him since he is one of the most famous people to come out of the Philippines.  The weirdest part was after the fight when everyone stood up and I realized that I was a solid foot and a half taller than everyone around me.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.
