Here I come again to flood your inbox!  Time for some informational housekeeping.  First off we have a brand-new route!  Due to concerns over the cholera epidemic we will not be going to Haiti, instead our route now looks like this:

Dominican Republic
Ecuador
Peru
Nicaragua
Guatemala
Thailand
Kenya
Uganda
Tanzania
Asia (ATL)
Malaysia

I’m surprised to see how many of us on V squad felt most strongly called to this launch date and this route because of Haiti.  I know it was no small part of what eventually brought me to the Race.  It’s interesting to see that God’s willing to shake up our plans even in this to get us to the countries He wants us in, when maybe we wouldn’t have gone deliberately.  As always this may change again once we start to travel – I’ve always known a year is an awfully long time to make plans when God’s involved.

The other major update is related to my health.  Last week I discovered I have a kidney stone, and while it’s not too big I do have to go in sometime soon to have it operated on to remove it.  This is an unexpected expense and has also made some things physically difficult, so I would appreciate your prayers on this matter.  By God’s grace I have made my $5000 funding deadline to officially launch on January 7, but I still have yet to raise another $9,300 to be fully funded.  Please share news of the Race with your friends, and send them to this blog – I need all the prayer and support I can get!

Please pray for all of us on V squad as God prepares our hearts and minds in these last three weeks leading up to launch!
