village near Vietnam. Arriving expecting
the worst (we were told to bring our mosquito nets and that they normally don’t
send teams out like this, but we were World Racers, so we should be able to
handle it!), we were pleasantly surprised by rather agreeable living
quarters. We actually were given an
apartment type upstairs of one of the churches’ buildings that had awesome roof
access. It didn’t take me long to decide
that I would be sleeping outside on the roof, with the great weather and
beautiful night skies of the remote village. My first night on the roof, I actually saw a shooting star before I went
to sleep.

Our contacts turned out to be some awesome men of God that
have been bringing many men to Christ and serving the church like crazy. They
run nightly English classes, which they have used as a tool to evangelize and serve their community, and they daily go out to houses throughout the nearby
villages to pray for the sick.
Katie, Matthew, Jordan, and Chelsea all got sick and missed
most of the week’s ministry because of it leaving Janna and I to do most of the
work.
enjoy it.

We visited houses daily, laying hands on and praying for the
ill, injured, and discouraged. One woman
said her stomach stopped hurting immediately. One man has been in bed, not speaking, not eating, and dying, we laid
hands on him and prayed. The next day we
visited him again, and he was speaking again, we prayed for him again. One
woman we prayed for was unable to walk for seven years, and the doctors said
they couldn’t help her. She is now walking.
One night we threw a party for the youth at the church. I taught them my favorite game… Soy Ninja.
For those of you that don’t know it involves hand slapping. The next night at around 3am, I get a tap on
my shoulder. As I open my eyes, I get a
slap on the hand, and the words… “Soy Ninja.”
I went to the zoo. Zoo’s in Cambodia only put chain-link fences between you and tigers that
could easily kill you. One roared at me
so loud. God and His creations!

about 40, and did my best to rightly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and
encourage the believers present with Romans 1:16-17 and expounding on a hand
full of other verses. I then headed off
to another village about an hour away to speak at another church I was asked to
preach at. This church too was small, but a very neat crowd.
Tuesday, we had to come back to Phnom Penh. I loved it out there, and I am glad that this
is what we get to do week in and week out.
