There is nothing like waking up to the sun rising above the mountains as the last star is still softly hanging in the sky.
Then going on a short walk down the road to enjoy the early morning sun and see everything that is going on at first light…
We would often walk down the road that leads everywhere!
During our morning devotionals it was not uncommon to have a shepard boy and his cows pass by the house.
After breakfast you could find Jami out front working on making knives for himself and to sell.
The last week that we were in Melealea Peter Mierke took us to see the waterfall. As we started our decent down the mountain a group of kids chased after us on foot; and yes the little boy in blue is running with his boots on his hands.
Peter Mierke, our contact for our time in Lesotho.
On the way back up the mountain we had a few guests ride with Kayla and I in the back of the pick up :).
No matter what was going on at Africa4Jesus the kids from the villages near by would stop by to play with John and Jami the two Mierke boys and team Fresh Anointing. Or just to swing for a little while before going any further on their journey.

While in Melealea we got to take a pony trek to see the beautiful Canyon.
The panarama is from right outside of my room, showing you what I was blessed to see every evening as the sun slipped down behind the mountains casting a warm glow over the adjacent mountain range.
Stephanie and I celebrating the 11 months that we got to spend together. And what a blessing it was to be able to not only start the race by rooming with her in Atlanta before launching out into the field, but to finish it rooming together on our final month.
