Welcome to Malaysia!
The first two images are from the rooftop of our hostel in KL where we spent debrief.
A view of the whole city form the stairs of the Batu Cave.
Near the train station on the way to the Batu Caves.
Batu Caves.
I saw this face in one of the big rooms in the free part of the caves.
The month of unsung heros didn’t look anything like we imagined. But we were able to meet some wonderful people and work with their ministries. God used this time to grow us in new ways as He does every month.
Georgetown in Penang… this is the street to our hostel that became our home for our time there.
Here is a picture of Laura standing with Barnabas and his children. Barnabas and his wife Esther, after raising their own children, were led to open a orphanage. This orphanage isn’t what you would expect. None of the children there are actually orphans. The children come from homes where the parents are unable to provide for them. They are from single parent homes and homes where the grandparents were raising them. In the home, Barnabas and Esther raise the children in a family setting with God as the center. I was blessed with being one of the two from our team that got to meet with them and hear about their ministry and hopes for the future. Laura and I got to sit in the living room and see the children start coming home from their time at their biological families homes for the holiday. Barnabas and Esther sat by the window anxiously waiting for each of the children to come home, just like God does with us! God is using their ministry and I am excited for what God has planned for their future.
While in Georgetown, Kari Anna, Addison, and I hicked across the national forest on the island to spend a night and day on the beach. While we were there we got to see some sea turtles that were going to be released that night into the ocean. Spending a peaceful weekend surrounded by Gods creation was just what the three of us needed.
Nothing like being photo bombed on your team christmas photo in front of our hostel 😀
Us, being the goofy group of people that we are!
On to Malacca!
Our hostel room in Malacca
I sat on the river and spent time with God and enjoyed the beauty that He had surrounding me.
