I’m a World Racer on the H-Squad and today we close out our first month of the Race in the Dominican Republic, where no other WR team has gone. It’s still hitting me that I’m actually on the Race and I’m not going home soon. No, there’s 10 months left!
Here’s a recap of the month in photos. Some of the stuff you didn’t hear about in blogs.
Sleeping at the airport on January 3 and countless trips to Gladys bakery to see Ivan.
Our first week we built a bonfire in the street and David is a street kid who we’ve all come to love and take care of.
Dave’s feet after a day in the slums and AFC Championship day with Jenn!
Erika and Gloria, two of the girls in Guachupita.
After we built the outhouse we put our handprints in the cement and wrote our names.
The beach and DR sunset from our roof.
Spectacle with no emotion and then with lots of emotion.
Spectacle with our wonderful coaches Mike and Patti and our first meal in the DR.

On our second day here a man prayed to satan against us randomly in the
park. Zack and I went off to pray against him. It was one of my
favorite moments in the DR. And playing dodgeball with the kids.
The World Race H-Squad.
