Approximately 1 year ago I accepted a call to partner with the World Race and venture around the world sharing the love of God. It was an opportunity to see the church abroad, experience new cultures living as the locals do, to seek the Lord fervently, experience firsthand global injustices, and serve the Lord as his hands and feet ushering in the Kingdom of God. I was called to a specific mission. 11 months… 11 countries… Granted many things have changed along the way including our route, this is the mission I have been called to. It’s where I belong. From the beginning there have been lofty financial goals, and inevitably each of them has been met by the Lords provision through his saints. I believe he will meet this final goal as well, and I hope you will take this opportunity to sow into the kingdom.

As I sit here on a hardwood Malaysian floor and the heavens open releasing rain upon the tin roof, I can’t help but reminisce on the past 6 months. Life on the World Race expedites spiritual and personal growth. We were thrown on a team with 6 strangers and forced to live in extremely close community. As if it wasn’t enough we are also encouraged to challenge each other and seek this Kingdom community the bible talks about. Sounds like a recipe for disaster when coupled with daily ministry right? There have been many times I have experienced brokenness, loneliness, and bondage. I have had questions, doubts, concerns, and still do, but the Lord has been in everything. Always working and guiding me along his gently sketched path. He has freed my mind to take him out of any box (what A.J. refers to as boxism) and encouraged me to ask questions. Not only is he restructuring whatever theology I once had, but also molding me into the man of God I am to be.

There has been so much change I scantly remember the me of 6 months ago, personally or spiritually, but I haven’t made it yet. I am still in the process. The Lord has expanded my knowledge and understanding of his grandness 100 fold, but there is much more to be done. Our God is a finisher.

“And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.”

 Philippians 1:6

There are more orphans to be held, widows to be comforted, messages to be preached, English lessons to be taught, untouchables to be touched, broken homes to be mended, prayers to be uttered, songs of praise to be sung, souls to be changed, and downtrodden to be encouraged. There are so much more faith, hope, and love to be released upon Asia and Africa. Here I stand with open hands and a willing heart to be your representation of Jesus on these continents for the next 5 months.

“Now you should finish what you started. Let the eagerness you showed in the beginning be matched now by your giving. Give in proportion to what you have. 12 Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.”

2 Corinthians 8: 11 – 12

The final goal is $14,300 by March 31, 2011. By the grace of Jesus Christ and the generous giving of the saints $10,561 has been covered. This leaves a need of $3, 739.

If there is a voice in your heart urging you to invest in the Kingdom of God today. A nudging from the spirit to be Christ for your brother from halfway around the world, here are the ways you can support me.

“He who supplies(F) seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and(G) increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11(H) You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which(I) through us will produce thanksgiving to God. 12For the ministry of this service is not only supplying(J) the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.”

2 Corinthians 9: 10 – 12

A closing rally cry…

Rise up Saints. Unite! We who belong to Jesus… Choose life today

and be love… And may the spirit of the Lord be your guide.

“And [as to His divine nature] according to the Spirit of holiness was openly [a]designated the Son of God in power [in a striking, triumphant and miraculous manner] by His resurrection from the dead, even Jesus Christ our Lord (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

5It is through Him that we have received grace (God’s unmerited favor) and [our] apostleship to promote obedience to the faith and make disciples for His name’s sake among all the nations,

6And this includes you, called of Jesus Christ and invited [as you are] to belong to Him.

7To [you then] all God’s beloved ones in Rome, called to be saints and designated for a consecrated life: Grace and spiritual blessing and peace be yours from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Romans 1: 4-7
