I was only 17 when I looked outside and saw a girl with long brown hair wearing an oversized man Tshirt and holding pants too big for her bunched up in her hands held against her slender frame. She was running frantically down the quiet  streets of my childhood neighborhood. “Strange.” I thought then I just stared. She collapsed two houses down in a ball sobbing… My mom came over to me and placed her hand on my shoulder… “Go” I heard my mom say. I got up and started to the door. I walked down the street hearing weeping grow louder as I walked over to her. I sat down next to her and quietly said “hey you ok?” She looked up and grabbed my shoulders staring at me in the face her hands shaking and her eyes wide. ” Help me!” I looked at her with the same wide eyed stare. ” what’s wrong?” She broke down grabbing my hand shaking and sweating. “Someone raped me!” Quickly I took her hand and we ran to my house. I did not know if someone was looking for her and sure didn’t wanna find out. My heart started beating out of my chest. We got to the door and my mom stood there. Her  hands grabbed my arm so tight I thought her fingers would puncture my skin. ” who is that? Don”t leave me alone.” I stared at her and proclaimed my word. ” that’s my mom, I will not leave you.”  We lead her over to the couch where she then passed out. I frantically searched her arm… what I thought  her right arm had a needle wound. She most likely was right handed… Therefore someone drugged her. Mom called the police as I started looking for her name or some form of I.D. Once I got her last name I went online and looked for everyone with her last name. I called over twenty people asking if they had a daughter with her name. Finally I called a woman, she answered and I asked… The phone got quiet. “Who is this?” She asked. I told her my name and then asked again if she knew the girl. She started to weep. “That’s my daughter I haven’t known where she has been for three years.” Trying to hold myself together I told her to sit down and then explained what happened. Weeping the mom got our address and drove to pick up her daughter sleeping on our couch. She ran over to her daughter crying and swooped her up in her arms and the daughter waking up screamed and grabbed her mom crying “momma, momma”

Don’t say you are alone we don’t have time to dwell… look out the window. Answer the spirit. And if you are alone… Cry out for help then start running with the people who come along side to leave the enemy behind.
