So you all know I need gear, I’m going to live out of a tent for a year and a backpack is going to be my closet. Whatever goes in that backpack will be all of my possessions for the entire year… mind blowing! Anyways here is a list of the gear I already have, what I will need and a few things that are wants but I could totally do without.
Haves:
- Tent
- Backpack
- Sleeping Bag
- Sleeping Pad
- Hammock
- Chacos (aka fancy hiking sandals)
- Headlamp
- Spork (lol)
- Nalgenes (aka water bottle)
Needs:
- Waterproof Daypack- around 30L (theres one at Walmart I’ve had my eye on but am saving up to purchase)
- Down Backpacking pillow
- Water filter straw or light
- Sleeping bag liner- one that fits the backcountry bed
- Airporter- for a 60L pack
- Multitool
Wants:
- Solar camping shower- the smaller and lighter there better
- Camping/Backpacking wash bag- again the lighter the better
- A Solar powered charger- compatible with an iPhone and macbook pro
- A waterproof computer case- for a 13″ macbook pro
- A waterproof camera- preferably a GoPro but any will do
- Portable External Hardrive- mostly for pictures!
Something to remember if you are planning on purchasing any of these for donation to my trip is that every item including all of my clothes must fit into my pack and daypack so the lighter an smaller an item is, the easier it will be for me to transport it!
