What in the world…am I doing?
I have had friends for the last two years that have done the World Race and I have never once felt a nudge or God speak to me about doing it. It’s not that it didn’t interest me (because I have a heart for missions both here and overseas, anything having to do with missions ALWAYS interests me). I have poured over other racers blogs, listened to all of my friends stories, and looked longingly at the pictures wondering when God was going to call me out again. About a week ago, something popped up on my screen saying it was the last call for the January route and something nudged me. I decided I would apply, asking the Lord to either close or open the door, and got accepted. As I have begun to process it, I have realized that God has been slowly bringing me to this point over the last few years. (more on that in my next blog!!)
What in the world…is the world race?
It is 11 months of outreach…of 25 hour bus rides and bucket baths, of mosquito nets and being crammed into trucks, cars, rooms, of eating unknown food, and making sure the water we drink is consumable, of living out of a backpack, wearing the same clothes day in and day out, and strange smells (probably from our clothes!) More than any of that it is preaching the Gospel, loving the unloved, bringing light into dark places. It is holding the little kids at the local orphanage, of speaking hope and healing and self worth to sex trafficked victims. It is encouraging the ministries that people don’t know about and bringing refreshment and encouragement to the local church in hidden places.
11 countries in 11 months!!
India, Nepal, South Africa, Swaziland, Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam, Mozambique, Latvia, Estonia, Thailand
I have a week to raise a little over $2,500 to start my first leg of this trip! Will you pray about partnering with me on this adventure?
