In Africa, as I said before, we have had a plethora of time filled with who knows what, but one of our uses of time was praying over a man who changed mine, and every girl on my teams life. Our host Mary had not only her family of 6 to take care of, but also 6 girls and 2 pastors. She needed some help as she couldn’t do it all herself so she would have her friend Sarah come and help. Us girls became very close with Sarah and desired to know more about her and her family. After the first Sunday service, we went around the village and prayed over members of the community who needed prayer. One house we stopped at was Sarah’s house; her husband was in need of a miracle. His name was Dancin and about 6 months ago he had a stroke, causing damage to the left side of his brain effecting his entire right side. He could barley move his leg, arm, fingers, toes, and his speech was completely impaired, no one could understand what he was saying. We arrive at his house after church to pray over him, and the Lord convicts me immensely to pray over him. We leave as things get awkward like normal, however, on our way home, the Lord gave me a vision for our team to return for 7 days and each of us would pray one day, and on the 7th day he would pray over himself and be healed. I told my team and we all became joyful at the opportunity to keep praying for Sarah’s husband. The next day, Emily received scripture from the Lord, Luke 13:10-27. This story shows Jesus heals a woman on the Sabbath and the Pharisees complain saying there are six days for work, one day for rest. Jesus shoves it to them saying why should she be remained in hold by the devil, whether or not it is the Sabbath. So this woman was healed on the Sabbath because he is Lord of the Sabbath. If our team were to return for the 7 days, he would be healed on the Sabbath, representing the scripture. The Lord speaks many times about how “Go, your faith has healed you” so we thought because he would pray over himself the last day, it would truly be his faith healing him. Throughout the week, we retuned to his house and each day someone different would pray for him.
On the very first day, I received a vision of numbers over everyones head and each day a different person felt compelled to pray, and it coincided with the number over each persons head. The Lord also gave my teammates visions and scriptures of Jericho marching around for 7 days praying that the walls would fall, and we continued to pray and the walls from his stroke would come tumbling down. We returned to Dancins house each day and prayed over him. We were confused as to why we needed to return so many times, but the Lord showed us as we continued the severity of his illness. Overtime he was losing his vision. He claimed he had almost a veil or scales covering his eyes. It got worse until the last three days, then like Solomon in Acts, after three days when his faith was healed, the scales from his eyes fell but before then, his spirits and his physical health was all low. As we prayed however, we saw gradual changes. He began to go to the bathroom by himself, walk without help or his cain, speak clearly, and he became joyful, something he hadn’t been since his stroke. The night before he was supposed to be healed we were all very stressed and nervous. We were nervous our faith was not strong enough to heal him. But it wasn’t our faith, or our healing, it was Dancins and the Lords and the Lord convicted us on that. We were only a vessel to deliver visions, words of encouragement, and prayers. We went on the final day, the 7th day, the Sabbath, and prayed over him for hours. He regained his vision, was able to speak in both his language, Chichaewea, and English, and was able to move more than ever before, but he was not completely healed. Why? Why was he not healed? Lord, you promised, why was he not completely healed? Why did you only half heal him?
But then the Lord convicted me on his timing. His timing is perfect, and his plan is perfect. As long as I listen and follow to what he asks, there is nothing else I can do. It is his salvations, his healings, and his power. I can only be a vessel, we all can only be vessels. We left discourage, but at peace with the Lord. We left content. He taught us about his timing and his plans, and tested us whether we would follow. Do not get me wrong, my Lord did miracles, his spirit was healed, he was joyful again, regained his relationship with the Lord, and was finally able to see, speak, move more freely, and participate in activities he was unable to over the past 6 months. The Lord did heal, but just not how we completely thought, but yet again another lesson he taught us. Dancin showed us the true impact we can have on people, and that things are not as they seem. When we first met him, we believe it was only a slight impact from the stroke, but building a relationship with him showed us the true suffering he had experienced. We built a relationship and the Lord taught us multiple lessons through it. We continue to pray for Dancin that he will continue to be healed and that the Lord will work miracles, but we know that this body is only temporary. He someday soon will be completely healed in Heaven living with the King of all Kings. He soon will be able to dance again. Dancin will be dancing in Heaven.
We have had the pleasure to witness other miracles here in Africa and it has been an incredibly life changing experience. Please continue to be in prayer and in heart with me and my team. It has been an amazing experience but we have faced many issues and many trials, so please continue in prayer for those around us in poverty in the physical world and in the spiritual world.
Also as you could’ve guessed, I am still not fully funded and do have a deadline coming up relatively soon to be fully funded. To help continue making impacts in peoples lives all over the world, I am in need of your support. I say this repetitively, but your donations truly do make an impact here towards the community and the work of God. Without your support none of this would be possible, so please playfully consider even donating a small amount because especially here it makes a huge impact. Thank you so much for your continual support in all aspects because truly without you none of this is possible. Thank you and I continue to pray for those at home! God bless you and enjoy your Valentines day!
