As of today, March 16th, I HAVE OFFICIALLY MET MY FIRST GOAL! According to Adventures in Missions, I need to have $5,000 raised by May 13th in order to go to training camp in the beginning of June. Guys, that’s 57 days early that you’ve helped me meet my goal and get me to camp!! Praise be to God! With that being said, I am completely blown away with what God is already doing through this journey. When I was accepted onto the Race, so many different emotions overcame me; one being the fear of the $17,000 price tag and having to ask people for money. No matter who it is that I’m asking to partner with me, asking for money is never easy.

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Upon reading this passage over and over, I realized that I am not raising money for myself but instead raising money to further the kingdom of God; for the ones who have never even heard of the name Jesus; for the ones who can’t even fathom to know that someone love them as much as Jesus loves his children; and to be obedient to His word and grow closer to Him.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” I know I can’t do this alone so as I sent out my support letters, I literally sent out all my worries and anxious thoughts about fundraising with them. God has called me to this journey so I am confident that He will provide. Boy, has he provided so far! Every time I start to get worried about money, He shows up big time and just reminds me that He has everything under control. Why do we even doubt Him sometimes??

Asking for money, especially when the total amount needed is such a high amount, is still hard but I’m so glad to have a Father who loves me so much and wants the best for me that he called me on this journey and that He will provide. I am also so grateful for all you guys that have chosen to partner with me, either prayerfully, financially, or both!

Prayer request: we officially have less than 3 months until training camp and 5 months until launch! Things are starting to get very real so if you could keep my squad in your prayers as we prepare to meet each other and do life together for the next year.
