As I have been placed on this new team of all women I have been asking God what He wants to show me in it. I was quite shocked to be placed on an all girl team, and to be honest a little offended. I don't know why. I love women. I love being a woman. I love feminity and what it represents. I guess I just thought there is more work that God has to do in my life when it comes to men rather than women, and I thought God would chose to do that by putting me on a team with men. But as I have been seeking answers on this topic God has revealed some pretty awesome things to me. See the truth of it is that he did not put me on a team of women because I am weak in this area, but because I am strong. Not to say that I don't have growing to do but God knew I would thrive in this environment and that this team would be able to work together in ways that would glorify HIM even more than my last team.

The last few years before the race I finally began listening to God and watching and seeking the growth he had for me. Part of this growth was opening up my heart to females again and seeking friendship from and with them. I prayed for God to put a strong powerful woman in my life and he blessed me ten-fold, not only with the women on my team, but with all of you women back home who are reading this blog and who have chosen to care about me. So in tribute to this I want to dedicate this blog and these next few words to YOU! Here is a tribute to all the strong and powerful women who are in my life. You have blessed me with friendship, sisterhood, motherly love, and all the thrills of being a woman. I love you!!

A Tribute:

A womans strength is like a large and slow running river. Though she looks calm and serene from the surface she carries an unstoppable and powerful current below. Certain things flow with her and other things against her, but the mighty current moves the river forward.

A womans beauty is like a desert rose, though it may be without water and nourishment for days and even weeks it maintains its beauty, standing out and looking vibrant in the harshest of environments.

A womans wisdom is like a white spotted owl. She observes from the branch of a tree and takes it all in, then coos quietly in the night what she sees, for all those who will listen.

A womans heart is like a sponge, taking all things in until it drips with excess.

A womans words are like the wind; sometimes gusting, sometimes breezing, sometimes carrying other things with it, and sometimes knocking things over, but always felt.

A womans tears are like a much needed rain that strengthens and nourishes the earth and all those who are touched by it.

A womans smile is like the sun. It brings light to all the world, heating and cooling entire environments; facilitating growth and the changing of the seasons.

Proverbs 31: 24-25, 30
She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs with no fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule when she gives instructions. Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last, but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
