I would say that yesterday I experienced one of the most amazing things in my life. We started out going to the hospital and I got to pray for moms who just had babies. I also got to spend a lot of time with a cancer patient who hardly had any body left. We just encouraged her and prayed for her. Dez sang to her and it was so beautiful.
Before I start out the next story I need to share the day before. The team I am with for the week was just disappointed they weren’t seeing miracles like the bible told us we will. So that night I prayed for one.
The next day…….
As we were leaving the hospital to go home, I saw a patient walking outside. She was very young and was walking hunched over with her knees very bent. I looked at her and smiled and she gave me the sweetest smile ever. It was almost like the pain of walking didn’t seem to negatively effect her. I knew I needed to go talk to her. I walked up and asked if I could pray with her and she was very willing. So we sat her down on a curb and I asked her if she knew Jesus. She told us that she used to be Muslim and that today, on her own with no one there, she knew God was telling her to accept Jesus in her heart. When she told God that she would choose Jesus her body felt very strong and God was telling her to walk. She told us she had not walked in one year. When we were watching her walk, that was the first time she had walked in a year. She was so happy and overjoyed.
She has cancer in her knees and her feet. She is 16 and her family lives in a different country and she is all alone.
We prayed for more healing and she asked us to give her a new name. In Africa they give themselves Christian names. It was one of the most beautiful experiences in my life. If I get a chance I am going back to spend more time with her at the hospital. I believe that God will fully heal her from cancer.
