You don’t 😀 What a glorious month. This fabulous lady,
Grace,
would come and take all of our dirty clothes
every Monday. Then Grace and some of the other women from the church would
spend all day washing our clothes. Since it was not very sunny it would take at
least a day for everything to dry.
I know that some of you really enjoy hearing about how the clothes
are washed so I will share how they washed our clothes.
Step 1: They got these basins that are made out of plastic,
like the stuff recycling bins are made out of, which are about a foot deep.
Step 2: If there is not water in the spicket to fill the
basins with dump out water from the many many rain water jugs.
Step 3: Add powder detergent and clothes.
Step 4: Stir the clothes up and let them soak.
Step 5: Scrub the clothes so they are nice and sudsy.
Step 6: Rinse the clothes – I’m not entirely sure how this
step went for them. Based on how our clothes turned out I think rinsing meant
squeezing out as much soap as you could and maybe rinsing it in some rinse
water.
Step 7: Hang the clothes up to dry.
