So at the beginning of debrief we had
been assigned to Phuket, Thailand. I did some research and it was
amazing!! It is a more touristy area on a pseudo peninsula at the
southwest side of the country. We were going to be working with an
organization called SHE that works with the prostitutes in the red
light district. Not only was I stoked for the ministry, I was stoked
about the things to do in that area. There was a water park, multiple
beautiful beaches, Thai boxing matches, elephant rides, and we were
going to be staying in a hostel! Also, we were going to be with 3
other teams and I was excited!

Well the last actual day of debrief we
found out that we were having a ministry switch. We will be staying
in Chang Mai, up in Northern Thailand; by ourselves; possibly in our
tents!! Change has become part of my life these last 5 months that I
wasn’t frustrated. I know that there are going to be just as awesome
things to do in Chang Mai and our ministry is just as awesome. We
will be working with a ministry called Remember Nhu. I did not get
time to research them because the internet was not working at the
hostel; however, I have been told that they work with children who
have been abandoned because they were born to prostitutes, who have
come out of the sex trafficking industry or are at danger of being
forced into the sex trafficking. Which, is equally as exciting. And
even though I don’t know specifically what there is to do up in Chang
Mai, we will be in Thailand for goodness sakes 🙂 I have been told
that Chang Mai is a great place to go on elephant rides through the
jungle! And when I was on the rock climbing website I believe that
there is climbing up there as well!! I am just so excited to enter
Thailand, to show people Jesus’ love, and to experience an entirely
new culture!
