Well as the Lord would have it, our teams have changed yet again. As we begin the fourth month of our journey it is time to raise up new squad leaders! Previously our squad has been led by Lindsay and Bethany, two amazing women of God who finished the World Race last year. However, they will only be with us until the end of month four and three new leaders have been risen up out of our squad to be our new squad leaders. This month our new leaders (Jeremiah, Vanessa & Tiffany H) will be learning and being mentored by Lindsay and Bethany before they leave 🙂 With those three being raised up to a new position of leadership it was necessary to shift our teams around and raise up new leaders for the teams.
My team did not change very much this time but we did change our name. Our new team name is Rooted. Our team members are: Rachael, Erin, Rosa, Hailey, myself, Joe, and Lamar. On our free day we went on a mini scavenger hunt around the city of Lima. Eventually we ended up in a clothing store and our goal was to wear all purple!!
We decided on the name rooted because our desire is to be rooted in Christ. Though we have not decided on a team verse, this verse was definitely an inspiration in deciding the name.
Jeremiah 17: 7-8
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
