I can hardly believe that we are finished with Peru and about to begin our fourth month of ministry! Though most of Peru involved making bricks for the children’s home, I still have a few small stories and tid bits to share; along with some miscellaneous pictures 🙂
-It was really common for our water to run out in the middle of the day
-I learned that roasted red peppers tell my body that it needs to poop immediately
-Rosa LOVES to do hair

– Belly dancing is rather challenging when you are actually trying to think about it
– One Saturday we did an entire day of sports ministry! It was amazing!! There was tug of war, running, biking, a sandal used to knock a bottle over, volleyball and soccer! I competed in the biking and learned that riding a bicycle through the sand on a course with hills that looks like it should be for moto cross extreme racing is REALLY REALLY REALLY hard!! This was our winning team:

– Amazing things happened on our roof top! People were healed, the voice of God was heard and peace was found.
– Our friend Jose, that worked on the bricks with us, had never been to a beach or a restaurant of any kind until our last day in Trujillo when we took him and his wife to the beach and out to eat! He is an amazing man who works super hard!
– ChiChi, the man we worked in the dump with has an amazing story of God’s provision. His second daughter was born with complications and by the time she was 9 months old she had gone thru 9 surgeries. He had used all of the family’s savings to pay off as many of the doctor’s bills as he could; however they kept coming. His daughter also needed to have a stint in her brain to drain the fluid out. When all of his money had run out ChiChi decided he was going to start working triple shifts at the garbage dump to try to make ends meet. That week, when he was sorting garbage and found a bunch of office supplies. In those office supplies he found money, and a lot of it. There was enough money for him to pay off the doctor’s bills! Since that day in the dump ChiChi says that he always has enough money to provide for his family, it is not an abundant and they might not be saving money, but he always has enough to pay for what they NEED. Praise God!
