After a few days with warm showers and soft beds we are off to our next ministry destination. I am really excited about the challenges it is going to present and I know that I won’t really have this opportunity again. So, where are we going?? We are going to a community called Huaticocha; you can try to look it up on a map but you are not likely to find it there. You might have better luck if you look for another city – La joya de los sachas – although it still is not a very large place. Basically we are going into the Amazon rainforest, headed towards the Columbia border ๐ YAY!!
We don’t really know what this is going to look like, what to expect or much about what we are doing and we won’t know until we get there. But here are a few things we do know:
-
It’s a 6 hour drive from where we are to there
-
We will be living, all 7 of us, in a church (but we don’t know the size of it-we assume it will be like a 10X10 room
-
We will be showering in the river!!! (we already know not to pee in the river)
-
The closest city (and internet) will be 25 minutes away
So, it looks like it will be 3 weeks of no internet. It is possible that I will have time but we are not counting on it. I apologize now that I won’t be able to post blogs but I can only imagine all the awesome stories that I will be able to tell you all come March ๐
PS. My next financial deadline is April 1st – I still need to raise $2,500 ๐
