October 16th I was driving to the airport for training camp! I was so excited and anxious that I spilt coffee on my pants- great, my new friends are going to meet me as a messy slob!  Now, not only was I nervous about meeting 50 some odd people I was going to be with for the next year, now my pants were ruined. By the time our first day was over, that coffee stain was the last thing on my mind.

One newsletter, heck thirty newsletters, would not be enough space for me to portray the amazing experience I had at training camp. I was able to meet the people who dreamt up the idea of The World Race and listen to the Word of God from amazing men and women. I was able to worship with such freedom! I was pushed to explore my world and break down barriers and expectations. Every day we ate food from different countries: from tacos to rice porridge, to rice and beans, to banana tomato and onion sandwiches.

Every day I met more new people and learned about their lives and how God brought them to this place in their lives.

I got to sleep in my tent for 9 days- well technically 8 because one day we slept underneath the stars. And every morning I woke up and exercised with my squad of 50!

During one session, the speaker pointed at me and asked me to stand up. He said something like “God told me to give this vile of anointing oil to you. That you, Denise, will see  many people healed across the nations because of your faith.” How crazy! I have never seen or experienced people being healed from prayer but I can’t wait to see it happen right before my very eyes, to have that kind of faith!

I got to meet my team- mates: Rachel, Katie, Emy, Jonathan, Jeremiah, and Lamar! We are so excited to spend the next 11 months together!

And on October 24th, as we were packing up to go home, I was telling a story and spilt my coffee  on my shirt and pants. Maybe that should be my trade mark.
