We have finally made it to Africa! Uganda to be specific, one of the countries I have been most excited about. The day we arrived here I was ecstatic! Driving through small towns, after a 21 hour travel day (which included a miracle and a very real passport freak out (blog coming soon)) I was practically laughing I was so happy to be here! It is so amazing how God works, just two years ago I was feeling for Uganda, wishing that someone would do something about their pain, and somehow here I am! If I did things my way, or things happened the way that I wanted them to I would never be here! Its amazing how Gods plans for our lives can look completely different then the ones that we have for ourselves, but Gods plans always turn out to be so much better then what we wanted. They make us so much happier then anything we could have chosen ourselves!

My last day of 2012 was spent first in the morning feeding monkeys right outside my tent, and then rafting up the nile with 40 of my now best friends. I had one of the greatest adventures of my life! The first time I have ever been rafting I ended up going down class 5 rapids! Our boat even flipped on the last rapid, so I got to experience what it would feel like to drowned.

We are currently in a City called Seeta which is about an hour from Kampala. We are blessed to be staying in a beautiful house, where children come and visit us every day. We spend our mornings visiting the elderly and praying over those who need it. Then we spend the afternoons with the children, playing sports or just loving on them. We also have spent some time digging, and preaching. Later in the month we are planning on having a girls night, where we are going to paint all the girls nails, watch girly movies, and talk to all the young women here about what being women of God means. We are also planning on painting the school, having a carnival for the kids here, and having a public worship night.

I am loving Africa, and am just so excited to see how God is going to use me and my teammates to change the hearts and lives of the people here. I am so thankful that all the plans that I made for my own life never worked out, and that Gods plans for my life won out. If God is calling you to change your plans, say yes to Him. Saying yes to The Father is one of the scariest thing I have ever done, but has made me more happy then any of my own plans could ever had. The Father knows what’s best for us so much more then we know what is best for ourselves.

I miss you and love you all!
