When God put it on my heart to lead an Ambassador trip this summer, I thought it would be as simple as that.  Take a month off work in the summer, lead a trip to the Philippines, then get back to my life.

I had no idea God would be using that thought to direct my life.

I never ended up getting that job, but instead spent 6 months caring for my mom.  Just as I was about to leave, and we were not sure what we were going to do for her care, the doctors determined it was no longer safe for her to stay at home.  The week before I left, we put her into permanent care.  God’s timing – He knew.

I applied for an internship in Atlanta to begin after I came home from leading.  I wanted it so badly.  As I was about to accept the position, I heard God continually tell me this was no longer right.  I struggled to let go, but in the end, I turned down the internship.  A few weeks later, there was a big staff turnover in the department I would be working in.  God protected me – He knew.

Feeling lost and like I wasn’t hearing from the Lord, I put everything in His hands. I didn’t trust myself to hear Him clearly, so I begged, “God, make it obvious.”

That afternoon I got a message.

“Do you have a job after you get back in August?  I know of a position that might be good for you to apply for.”  He made it obvious – He knew.

Because He knew, God has given me an amazing opportunity.  I have been hired to fill the Ambassador Sales and Mobilization role at Adventures in Missions! Basically, if a high schooler is interested in going on a trip, I will be their go-to person.  Once they commit, it will be my job to help them prepare in every way possible up until their launch date.  I am incredibly excited about this opportunity, and see SO MANY of my prayers for the past 6 months answered in it. God knew. He always knew.

Now, after LEADING an Ambassador trip myself, I will be able to encourage and disciple high schoolers who want to find a deeper relationship with God and see more of His Kingdom Work… all things God gave me a passion for on the Race.  He knew.

I believe that God also knows HOW this is going to happen.  And there are a few things I would love for you to pray with me about.

1. I have to move almost immediately after I return.  Though I possibly have a friend moving to Gainesville as well, we will need to find an affordable place to live VERY quickly (and potentially more roommates).

2. Every employee at AIM is required to fundraise a portion of their salary.  My position requires that I fundraise $500 a month. Before I start in August, I must have 3 months raised to begin working (or at least in pledges).  So I am praying for God to provide solid, monthly supporters.  One of the most humbling parts of doing missions work is having to raise support, but it is also a beautiful opportunity to allow others to partner with you in the Kingdom-work in which you are involved.  I would love for you to prayerfully consider partnering with me in this.  If God puts this on your heart, whether it be a one-time donation or monthly support, please click the “Support Me” link on the left side of my blog or contact me so I can give you more information about how to support me (all donations are tax-deductible).

God knows. He knows what He is doing in my life and He knows what He is doing in your life.  So when you are sitting in the midst of your own unkown, wondering why your life looks like it does, hold on to the hope that one day, you will be able to look back and say “He knew.”
