“…give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal and so dishonor the name of my God.” – Proverbs 30:8-9
“What’s next?” It feels as though a million people have asked me this question. I have asked this of myself and of God many times. God and I seem to be in this place where He knows exactly how much to give me to keep me moving without really revealing any big-picture answers. As infuriatingly frustrating as that is at times, He knows better than I that I cannot and should not be in control. If I know too much, I inevitably try to take over and navigate the plan and the outcome. But we all know how that would end. (Hint: poorly – with me exhausted and defeated)
So in this time, I am learning to trust, as God faithfully and continuously provides just enough for today. And I am incredibly excited about the paths He is laying out before me.
And I finally know enough to include all of you!
So, everyone, let’s all ask: Deborah, what’s next?
(For the first time) I am SO glad you have asked!
Currently, I am living at home, taking care of my mother, finding community, and searching for part-time jobs. And while that is all grand, and I see the Lord working, it is temporary, and not the incredibly exciting thing I want to tell you about.
BUT THIS IS!
In July, I have the opportunity to lead an Ambassador trip!
Deborah, what is an Ambassador trip?
This is an AIM trip designed for high schoolers (You can learn more here). We will be spending 2-4 weeks on the mission field, listening to the voice of God and answering His callings. As a leader on this trip, my most important ministry will be the high schoolers participating.
Where are you going?
Well, I don’t know! Again, I know just enough for today! But as soon as I know, I will be sure to tell all of you!
How can we help?
There are several ways!
First and foremost, please join me in prayer. Pray that God would construct these teams and that all of the high schoolers He is calling right now would have to courage to answer Him! Pray over the ministry that we will be serving with and for my co-leader(s)! Pray that God would also give me the wisdom and strength to disciple these wonderful Kingdom-workers.
Secondly, I am once again fundraising. Though I cannot give you an exact goal at this point (that comes with the country!), I can tell you I need to raise at least (roughly) $800. Prayerfully consider supporting me. You can do so by clicking the “Support Me!” link or contacting me personally.
What comes after this?
Well, now, let’s not get too ahead of ourselves! I’ll take my daily bread with thanks, and leave the rest in His ever capable hands to lay out before me.
