The "about me" sections of interviews, social media sites, and general conversation have always been a difficult task for me. Who am I? How do I define myself? So I guess the best way to tackle this is one thing at a time.
I am a Christian. I love God with my whole heart and do my best to live that way. I fail continuously and in varying proportions, but the grace of God allows me to keep trying.
I am a teacher. I fully believe that teaching is my gift from God and my ministry. It is a passion I have always had in and out of the classroom. I am finishing my first year as a 5th grade teacher in an inner city school and I work with a local church teaching K-12. I will be happy wherever God sends me as long as I can teach.

I am a student. The day you stop being willing to learn is the day you stop living. I graduated from Kentucky Christian University in 2012, but my education continues. I learn from God on a daily basis. I learn from my family and friends. I learn from strangers. I learn from my superiors, my coworkers, and even my students. More often than not, I learn from myself and my mistakes. And now I am looking forward to learning from my squad and the people we meet everyday along the way.
I am a daughter and sister. God blessed me with an amazingly strong and faithful family. My parents raised me in the Christian church and helped me along as I found my own footing in the faith. The second of four siblings, I am used to a little bit of craziness all the time. Of all the gifts given to me, my family is the most precious.

I am Deborah. I am a 23-year-old child at heart with an old soul. I love a good book and great cup of coffee more than about any other earthly pleasure. A good song can completely turn my day around. The only place I sing louder than in the shower is in the car, where I can also be seen dancing unashamedly. I'm that girl who talks through movies. Drawn-out conversations and rainy days always put a smile on my face. I would rather talk to a child than an adult in almost any situation. I love spring days and summer evenings. Spiders, trains, and ferris wheels are not okay. I've moved 6 times and get restless staying in one place too long. The people of Haiti hold a large part of heart. I cheer solely and passionately for the Kentucky Wildcats (C-A-T-S Cats Cats CATS!). I'm a little bit country girl and a little bit city-dweller who resides squarely in the center of the suburbs. I over-analyze, overthink, and overplan. I would love to hear your story and I am finally at a place in my life where I am willing to share mine. I love God, I love people, and other than that, I just do the best I can.
