It’s funny how God uses other people to give you little messages.
I was studying for a women’s bible study that we have every Monday night in Jaco with the lovely ladies of Horizon Church. So I was reading and had this pretty cool thought and I am trying to get better about writing my thoughts down so I went and grabbed my handy fancy journal. As I turned to a blank page my eyes went down on the page and It appeared someone had already written on this page.
I have awesome friends and I mean awesome. Before I left my friend Shelby decorated my journal because she likes to doodle. She had written at the bottom page this great message for me that day.
“What will be your Space Jam?”

The Holy Spirit giving me insanely cool thoughts is my Space Jam.
I just got to a place where I could be able to interpret these thoughts in Costa Rica so Shel’s little message was so cool.
With all this being said I would like to share my thought with you and walk you through how my brain works. It gets a little complicated so stay with me.
The study was talking about the Ten Commandments and this is what I saw…

Hang Ten Definitions
1. go “all out” on a surfboard typically with all ten toes hanging on the front edge
2.Surfer positions surfboard in such a way that the back of it is covered by the wave and the wave rider is free to walk to the front of the board and hang all ten toes over the board.
hanging=depending
ex: you are hanging onto a cliff for dear life you are depending on that your hands and that cliff to keep you from falling
Hang Ten Philosophy
In order to go “all out” and live a radical life our feet must be rooted in love and covered by God. This will allow us to be free to walk to the front of the board in order to extend our ten toes (ten commandments) to open unknown waters. Also to share the trick to draw peoples’ attention to leave them in awe.
Hanging Ten is depending on Love and God to extend the Ten Commandments to share with others.
warning: The Hang Ten trick is the hardest trick to learn surfing and the hardest trick to live out, but not to worry the waves will catch you. Keep practicing.
Fun Fact: Later that day we went on a prayer walk around Jaco and found this gem.
