Philippines so far…

The Philippines has been absolutely incredible. God has been showing my team so much. My team has been stationed in Manila. We are doing Unsung Hero ministry this month. That means that we are looking for contacts for future World Race teams. So, we talk to people, google things, go out into the community, and just look in any way possible for new contacts that the World Race is not yet working with.

So, after last month, I needed to see how this was ministry. I see that we are really serving future World Race teams. I am ok with that because everything we are doing is supposed to be done for the Lord. SO, technically I am serving God and therefore I am ok with anything that we are asked to do.

Well, we were actually off to a pretty slow start (as expected). Just when you could tell that the team might be starting to get frustrated, God did his thing again. We went and spent one afternoon meeting a Pastor. This led to us getting 3 UH’s in one day. Since our goal was 3-5 really good contacts, we were absolutely blown away. This pastor led us to 2 other contacts and the contact driving us around introduced us to one more contact on our way home. We have no doubt that God really moved on that day. We are continuing to see him daily, but that was a very special day.

Since then…

Our UH work has kind of been put on hold. We have decided to go spend Christmas in Tacloban, which is a city that was practically destroyed by the typhoon. We want to try to make it as good of a Christmas as possible since many have already lost so much. We have also been amazed at how Filipinos everywhere are so grateful of our help and willingness to go to Tacloban. Many of these people do not know anyone affected by the typhoon, yet are so broken for their people and their hearts go out to them.

CHURCH, WAKE UP!!!

This is how we should be reacting to everyone in need. Maybe we can’t help everyone but we can definitely help many, someone, and anyone! It is time for us to truly step out of our comfortable lives and seek a live of sacrifice and a heart that breaks like Jesus’ does. We contain perfect love in us because God is love. Let’s start living like we can make a difference.
