Hey… I’m David Towns. I am 23 years young. I love Jesus and simply being able to call Him mine. Gosh, I wish I really knew what to say. I am from Aiken, South Carolina. I have two amazing parents. My dad is like my best friend any my mother is the best comforter that I know. I have a sister who was adopted from Russia and just 9 months old. I can’t believe she is 11 now and in middle school. My brother is 26 and he hurt his back in high school playing soccer. So, unfortunately he still lives at home and is in bed often. His pain is very intense, but God is bigger so my family is comforted knowing that God is able, but more importantly… He is enough!!

I did 3 years of college at North Greenville University playing soccer and studying Youth Ministry, before taking a semester off and spending 2 months in Uganda, Africa. There I joined a soccer team and travelled all around Uganda playing and just building relationships with my teammates and brothers! I have done many other trips, but I don’t think there is tons of room for me to explain all of them. Well, lately I’ve just been taking a few online classes from Anderson University. I am also working at a daycare. I have 28 children between 5k and 6th grade. Can anyone say CHAOS?!!? I love it though and even though the pay is terrrible, the kids make it worth it.

Let’s see… How do describe me quickly.
I love Jesus. I love movies. I listen to acoustic music all the time (wish i was musically talented)
I write spoken word poetry all the time. It’s how I get thoughts out or reflect on scripture. I have a beard that I am quite fond of. I do not eat tons of vegitables so this trip could be interesting.

TATTOOS….
I have 2 tattoos. I have one on each forearm. I think they summarize me and my purpose quite well.
My left one says, “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause. -Isaiah 1:17-” the one on my right says, “Psalm 73:26.” That verse says, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Like I said, I think one proclaims what I am called to do, while the other proclaims how I am able to do that. I know that God has called me to the nations. TO LOVE. TO SERVE. TO GIVE. TO SHARE CHRIST. TO SPREAD HOPE… And i know that the only way for me to do that is through His strength that is in me!

My role at my church… apart from doing spoken word videos for different series that we do, my main role is with our youth. I mostly work with the High School Juniors and Seniors. I love being like an older brother and just getting to know them. I’ve been helping in the youth for 5 years now.

I am very sarcastic and blunt. I don’t mean to be always, but sometimes it just slips out. It is all in love.

I am so excited about this trip. I do not even know what I am getting myself into, but I am excited for the journey that He is planning on leading me down. 11 countries. 11 months. countless memories. endless blessings.

Let’s do it….
