I started this month off with a little under 7000.00 in my AIM account. I am very happy to say that I am currently at 12,447.00 IN my account! With my monthly pledges keep comming in I am Fully Funded! God has been so faithful to provide for our squad. The 3 out of 4 lowest people finances got a significant amount of money come in, Amanda on team Manna is still in need. This past month my brother Dave sent out an email on my behalf to all of his supporters. It really blessed me and I wanted to share it with everyone. Brothers fight for each other and Dave has definently been fight with me.

UPDATE ON THIS BLOG THAT I EMAILED OUT EARLIER THIS MONTH:

I asked you before to pray for Matt and for his support. As of today, Matt completely fully funded. The urgent need I sent out a few emails about was met. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for contributing towards his race. God fought for him, and it’s exciting to watch God show up and show off…!

likewise, Anna is over $11,000 at this point and will be well on her way to being fully funded…God’s still got a little more work to do there, but He will…lets watch and see it happen!

(the email i mailed out a few weeks ago…)

team spectacle started doing a bible study together. we’re studying nehemiah together. (if you know me, you know that i spend as much time in nehemiah as i do anywhere else in the Bible) i love the story of nehemiah so much. he was an average dude working a job, a man not even mentioned in the new testament, a man whose journal we get an inside look at, and a man of prayer.

as we studied the first chapter, and moved into the second, i read the line where nehemiah boldly asks the king a favor, even though he’s very much afraid to do so. nehemiah asks the king for the resources at his disposal so that God would be glorified. he was afraid because of the threat he had of death…me, i’m more afraid that i come off as a man always begging for your help. but nehemiah knew that there was no one better to ask than the king, who did have access to the resources that would eventually rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, and bring the Israelites back to a place of correct worship.

so today i ask you, those who have provided so abundantly for me, to consider giving some of your resources toward matt williams account. matt is my brother. according to his support, he’s financially not where he needs to be to stay on the race. he’s got about $7,000 of his $13,800 donated, and AIM needed us to be at $11,040 by the beginning of april. we’re well past that.

here’s why i ask. matt means a lot to me personally, but he’s also doing the work of the Lord in really powerful ways.
 matt and dave by you.
matt and my friendship began the last week in the DR. he had had a great month and built a relationship with a young man named Joel at the church his team worked with. leaving Joel ruined matt. as i returned from my final day in the slums of guachupita, also ruined, i saw matt around the corner and saw the hurt in his heart. he was trying to hide it, but the Lord audibly told me, “Go love your brother!” that night, i committed to being his brother, defending him throughout our lives, a commitment made to him and to the Lord. The next night i washed his feet as a sign of that servanthood commitment to him. and we’ve grown closer since.

we got ‘stuck’ together in bangkok a few days, and we prayed together, laughed together, dreamt together, and just poured into each other…both of us needing to be filled. for the past two debriefs, we have roomed together, and done much of the same…connected at the hip. our last night of our thailand debrief, he returned my commitment by washing my feet and committing himself to me as a lifelong brother. this month, in my new role of not being a team leader, i’ve found a slew of letters he’s written to encourage me throughout the month. i want and need my brother to stay around, and if you can help in that process, i’d love you to do so.

likewise, matt plays a wonderful part in bringing glory to God through his ministry. he’s quick listen, and slow to speak. when he does speak, as the youngest member of our race, his words are dripping with scriptural wisdom well beyond his years. God has given him a prophetic gift of intercession. he knows how to read hearts because the Lord reveals things to him that he knows is for the purpose of prayer. he’s a man marked by prayer like daniel or even nehemiah. recently, for the dreams he has almost every night, the Lord is beginning to birth in him the gift of interpretation of dreams. as he opens himself up to the things the Lord is birthing inside of him, i want the Lord to continue to grow him in his faith and giftings. i’m not naive enough to assume God can’t or won’t do those things if he doesn’t continue on the race, but i would like to be at his side, and to have him at my side throughout this year when God grows him to a place beyond anyone’s dreams or expectations. http://davidwilliams.theworldrace.org

I ask for you to give up the resources you have control over so that God’s work can be accomplished in Matt and so that God’s name will get the honor it deserves throughout Africa and Europe. I don’t apologize for asking again for help, nor do i want you to give if it’s not something the Lord lays on your heart. But if he does, please be obedient. obedience, i’m learning, no matter how hard, is always the best way to do this life. costly obedience is worth more to the Lord that almost anything else.

Another teammate to keep in your prayers is Anna Coffey from my team. she has been getting support coming in pretty substantially this month, but still needs your help. she’s about a grand in head of matt in the support raising, but read her blogs and pray about supporting her as well. her blog is found at http://annacoffey.theworldrace.org and it’s been so exciting to watch the way God has really broken her, rebuilt her, and redeemed her this past four months. i trust he’s going to do it for seven more at my side, and then for a lifetime to come. can you help with her race?
