Have you ever had a little tidbit of information that God drops on your heart like a bomb? A piece of scripture, a breath of life, yeah…those words of wisdom that just cripple you for a moment? Well I am here to tell you about some that have dominated my heart and caused a metanoeo experience.
Some of you may be wondering; what on earth is a metanoeo experience? Well simply put it is the idea to change your mind and repent. To heartily amend with the abhorrence of your past transgressions and walk into a positive embrace.
Chatting with God one morning asking for some clarity in my heart He gifted me with some scripture. The book of Isaiah was echoing like none other. Suddenly I found what God had for me:
"Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes.
Cease to do evil, Learn to do good, Seek Justice,
Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the Fatherless, Plead for the Widow. "
-Isaiah 1:16-17
I need to wash myself of all that I am holding onto. I need to cease the evil doings in my life, learn to be more like Him and seek the truths that He has for me. This missions trip is my chance to strengthen myself in Him. To be poured into and embrace my own personal metanoeo experience.
My prayer for you is to encounter a metanoeo experience. To wash yourself clean of your "old" identity for you are of Christ and "therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." -2 Corinthians 5:17
