Saint Stephens Basilica in the distance

One of the nearly hundred statues in Budapest

When
one thinks of missions one instantly thinks of door to door or
evangelism, but not so here in Hungry. The missionaries we work with
here have very few results, why? Because people are wanting to make an
intellectual decision for following Jesus. The Long’s have worked for
years and have seen so many people coming to gathering after gathering
with a huger for God, but don’t see the benefit for following him. What
the Long’s have found out is that, there needs to be an extended amount
of time spent with each person they are in contact with, relationships
need to be maintained over an long period of time to let the person know
that they are not only Loved by God, but by His children.

So
this month that is what we have been doing. We have
been working on being involved in relationships with those in ministry,
those seeking to know more about following Jesus, and anyone we happen
to come across.

Let me tell you how this day went down:

Megan writing down “This is the Day” before we began to sing

Me with Emoke a student I am ministering with

First
thing in the morning we went to a medical university and spoke in a
bible study of about 15 students all wanting to bring the gospel to
their campus. They were excited to here how we have been traveling the
world and how we laid down everything to serve and follow Jesus and
share Jesus with the world. They also were encouraged by our presence
and How God has been with us ever step of the way. We prayed with them
and we of us planned to meet up later and better to get to know each
other.

Not much hope among those that are Homeless Here

Pastor Paul Sharing Gods Love with the Homeless

Later that afternoon we headed down to the subways about
five blocks away and began our homeless ministry. The first person we
met was Terry a fiery man who was playing a banjo. He began to play and
we began to sing. Soon we found out He has been
here in Hungary with YWAM for at least 15-20 years. Waiting for about
20 minutes we finally were able to meet up with our homeless contact
Pastor Paul who was working around the corner.

The first thing
one would notice about pastor Paul was that He was not from around here,
In fact he is from Korea. For the past who knows how many years he and
his wife and other friends have been coming to many of the metro
stations about 5 days a week sharing the gospel with a short sermon,
serving food, singing praise songs and getting to know the men and woman
who unfortunately live on the streets. We after a moment of
awkwardness, jumped right into the ministry. Leyna served the food, and
me Megan, Nicole, and Cat began singing some praise songs. It lasted a
total of maybe 35 minutes then we packed up prayed and we were on our
way.

Kitchen Budapest a creative Workshop

The Guest Speaker begins to share her vision for Healthy Media

Creative Director Barnabas

Annelys
de Vet after Hearing that God is proud of Her

That night I have been feeling a leading by God to reach out
the people that I can associate with, creative people. This
week happened to be design week so Me, Noe, Mike, Leyna, and Kathryn
all went to KitchenBudapest a creative workshop. This night their was a
guest speaker who was a graphic designer whose goal was to present
countries in a good light instead of all the war and violence or
oppression that the governments and media represent. Her name is Annelys
de Vet. It was good to be around people who like to do as God does. He
takes a thought, speaks, and it becomes reality. So as Designers we take
our thoughts or dreams and speak them out or draw them out and then
make a reality out of them and we bring glory to God by being like Him. I
Spoke to Annelys personaly and told her How God is proud of her and
that she was doing good things for Him whether she knew it or not.

 Many
of the people here in Budapest are atheist, possibly including these creative people, but when I
told her how I was proud of her and that God was too, she lit up with a
big smile. I just pray and hope that she would
think about what was said and that my words would be a seed in her
heart. That she would realize that, Yes God is proud of her, but also
would love to have a relationship with her and walk with her in the good
times and the bad all the way to heaven.

So there it is. Students, Homeless, Graphic designers all in one Day.

Everyone
needs a savior, man, woman, boy, girl. From the Rich, to the working
class, all the way down to those who can’t seem to provide for
themselves. Everyone needs a savior.

God is not willing that anyone perishes, but that all come to Him in Repentance and Relationship with Him.

Thank you all for supporting me and I have to be frank.

I still need to raise $471.25

And if just 10
people gave $4
7.13  I would
be fully funded.
That’s not much at all, probably how much one spends on Starbucks in a week or two’s time.

So I would love to finish this trip strong
and can’t wait to see what God is going to Do through you.
