This first week and a half I have been working at Woolaning Homeland Christian College.  Its found in the Bush, very Awesome! It’s located in the midst of Litchfield National Park about two hours south of Darwin.

Its a school for Aboriginal children ranging from tweens to young adults. Many of the children in these communities follow in the footsteps of their parents and this school gives them the ability to get a job and do something productive. Jesus Christ is also taught and instilled into their daily lives and many come to Christ.

Megan sharing a Testimony

For the first few days we helped the teachers out in their class rooms. Mind you these children come from communities were the children run free. So it was a rare occasion when you could get one kid to stay in one place. One moment they are sitting down the next their across the room or in another room. Then there was the whole issue of respect. In their culture respect has to be earned. On many occasions the children would straight up cuss out the teachers or me or completely ignore us.

Sadly many of these kids, who go to school for free, act out and get sent home, never getting the opportunity to go further in there lives then their own front door.

For those who did respond to us and opened up to us their was great joy. Sammy is a wonderful boy who comes from a family of drunks, many Aboriginals are habitual drinkers. He was honest about his past and present and he loved us being there and we loved him very much. Then there was the chance were I was able to Share the Gospel with Harold, Craig, Cameron, and Joshua. That was Awesome. Pray that Harold receives Christ as many of these kids won’t accept Christ if its going to make them look the fool, Aboriginals struggle with shame and standing out among others.

Noe and Sammy

They rarely open up to people and all that week we showed so much love and concern for them that many of them started to sing christian praise songs with us and just hang and fellowship with us to were we could disciple those who were saved or interested in God and having a relationship with Him.

So praise God For this time in Woolaning. Pray that the children who heard the truth and saw the work of God in our lives will decide to start a relationship with God and that the Children who know God would continue to follow him in this tough school environment. Praise God!
