I have arriveved safley in the Philippines and am loving it here. I am really enjoying spending time with the people here, wether it be the native people who are living in the slums, the Longs who are letting us stay at their compound, the other missionaries who are living and working around the area, or the kids who live in this country. So far in the first few days I have helped dig the foundation for a school and house which i will be working on most mornings in the coming month. I have also gone and done feedings for kids in one of the slums which i will be doing most evenings. Along with this I have read with the kids in the school next to where we are staying and have played with the kids of the streets.
Everyone here absolutly loves basketball so i will be playing basketball for a couple hours every day with the kids. On any given night you can go out into the streets and before long you will run into a game of basketball. Along with playing alot of basketball I have also played soccer at a school for kids of missionaries.
As I grow closer to the people and see how they live my heart breaks for them more and more. These people are livng in some of the worst conditions and are yet always joyful of what they have and for their families. So i would ask that you all keep them in your prayers. I hope that the Lord will bless these people by my being here and that while here I can do the will of God.
