RENEWING MY MIND
This past year is has been so unexplainable,
There has been a transformation that’s actually attainable!
I went to a small church, which wasn’t my thing.
Haven’t been in years yet something was calling me.
I sat on the edge of my seat listening intently,
hearing and learning that God was jealous for me!
He wanted me with such a passion and intimacy!!
That He pursued me with such unfathomable intensity!!!
Lord I said, can you take a person like me?
Someone broken and contrite,
with a lustful heart filled with strife!?
I am still learning what this means
but take my heart, I want to be free!
I didn’t know that you love and want to be friends with me.
With power and love that has endless reach!
Praise this Lord, the King of Kings!
Holy, holy, holy is what your choir sings!
So please speak and teach me when I come to you in prayer,
reading your word allowing you to burn in my heart so I can share!
This beautiful and underserved grace
which makes my heart sing… I want to see your face!
You tell me to run hard, persevere in my race!
Run harder than before I want to win first place!
Keep my eye on you, is easier said than done
But you’ll never abandon me, no not once!
Who is this person that changed my life radically?
It’s the Messiah, the one who died for me!
Thank you, and I mean it fully heartedly
My savior, Jesus Christ that loves so freely!
He is not cheap and doesn’t come in a box.
His life is blameless and His grade is top notch.
Higher than any other name!!
Sovereign is what everyone will one day claim!
He changes and purifies the heart
giving wicked men a fresh start!
He is not religion, tradition, or educated steps
Mercy triumphs judgment is what He reps.
Lord hear my cry that people who hear this are extremely blessed.
The joy that comes in the morning with fully extended rest.
Don’t bless them with a big screen T.V.,
but coming to know you and what your presence brings.
I ask all of these things humbly, in the name of the one true King!
In the Holiest of names, In Jesus I pray!

– This was after my first year in Christ, I was blessed to read this at church on New Year’s Eve. That same night I gave up alcohol, I haven’t had a single drop since! Praise the King of King’s! I love you Jesus!!
