So our team decided to take our day off in Chisinau. We were going to meet our translator’s friend when we get to the bus station. We got off the bus and within a minute of getting off the bus an elderly lady carrying 2 large bags of fruit fell down in front of us. My teammates helped her up. Then we noticed a little blood. She had a jar in one of her bags that broke and she cut her leg just below her knee. It was probably 3-inch gash that was very deep. She definitely needed stitches and to get to the hospital. Many people saw it happen and they all just looked the other way and went about their business. We continually asked people to call for help but everyone just ignored the situation. The girls got a scarf around the cut to help stop the bleeding. Finally a gentleman called for help, and our translator for the afternoon came so he could help communicate for us. The ambulance finally came and took the lady to the hospital.
We were all pretty upset because no one would help this lady out. After this incident I really felt far away from home. This would hopefully never happen in the United States. I am really glad that my team was there and stepped up and ministered to this woman, otherwise she would have just laid on the sidewalk for who knows how long before getting helped.

Traveling through the city our bus happened to stop by a McDonald’s so of course we had to stop! I ended up spending 43 lei!!! Seemed like so much but it’s a little over $3 USD I think. Our translator got one of her friends to let us stay in his apartment for the night and fed us a huge amazing Moldovan meal! It was a super nice place! It was 7 floors up so we had a beautiful view of Chisinau! He fed us an amazing meal of soup, bread with goat and cow cheese, potatoes with duck, veggie salad, and ice-cream.

We went to Dendrariu park which was filled with flowers and fountains. There were at least 20 couples getting married that day and they were all getting pictures around the park.

After many facebook messages back and forth when we could get wi-fi, I finally got to meet up with a friend from back home in Nebraska. It was a joke of how I would stop by and say hi as we traveled through Moldova on our way to Ukraine. But since our route got switched I was in Moldova for the entire month! Ashley Woodman is working with a missionary couple in Balti, Moldova this year starting a campus ministry along with many other things. http://www.missionlovemoldova.com/

Kid's Minsitry is going great. We have between 20-30 kids each day. We play games, sing songs, draw and make bracelets, and tell bible stories. It sometimes gets repetitive for us, but the kids love and and continue to come back each day. On Sunday's we travel 15 minutes to Calararsi. So far Hamilton and I have both preached in church there. The girls are not allowed to. So we all sing a couple songs for them and the girls give testimonies. Last Sunday the service was 2 hours and 45 minutes long. It ended with communion and washing each other's feet. It was a neat to experience. This Sunday it was a little of 2 hours long. Definitely something to get use to.
Please continue to keep us all in your prayers. Many of us have not been feeling well for several days. It comes and goes. When working with kids we need our energy and health! Feel free to email or FB me! [email protected]
