This month has been amazing! Going from village to village praying for people helping them with odd jobs, playing with children. You name it. Every relationship made has been special but none more for me than with the orphaned boys on Mission of Hope campus.
Iverson-the loud leader.
Makenlove-the schemer.
Stevenson-the smart one.
Christopher-the athlete.
Roberto-the jokester.
These boys live in a orphanage house on MOH campus. All of their family has passed away and their ages range from 9-14. At the mission they are fed, clothed, housed, educated and taught about Jesus. They’re still rough children at times because there country has hastened them to be so, but overall great kids. The mission has raised them to seek God and love Him. I have really grown to enjoy being with them. Playing ball or pulling them on suit cases down the sidewalk or just beating them up and joking around. Whatever it was we had fun. The other day I had my most precious time with them. Me and my squad were teaching English in the church to local villagers. Then the rain just starting falling hard on the tin church roof, you couldn’t hear the person sitting next to you. I looked outside and saw all the orphan boys and their friends playing soccer in this monsoon! While still in their school clothes! At first I was like Dave no this is your last pair of clean clothes. Then I just said forget it and ran into the storm. They screamed when they saw me we ran splashed kicked the ball through the mud and just had a blast. Soon many other racers joined in and before we knew it we were soaked. We loved it! Just one of those precious moments on the race you will never forget.
My fellowship with these little guys has been amazing! Seeing what these boys one day to be men could do for the path of Haiti is amazing. Haiti is hurting. Voodoo is very active, people live in tarp houses if their lucky, people are sick; turf is fought over and only 25% of people work. God is needed. These boys could make a difference! Pray that God raises them up to be leaders and molds these christian boys into warriors of God. God just needs a few good men to change the course of history. I want these men to be building blocks for Haiti. May seem dramatic but when God works everything always is.
P.S. I need money!! 2000 in 2 months so please support me! Ever dime helps yo.
