Here is a look at some of the other stuff going on behind the scenes over the last couple of months during the Race:

=======

10 days ago, my best friend from Iraq lost both legs in Afghanistan. I wrote a blog about that and have been in constant contact with family and friends. I set up a GoFundMe account for him and we have raised almost $100,000 in just over a week. That has been keeping me quite busy lately. http://www.gofundme.com/ssgbrandondodson

** I can’t post these in WR blog due to copyright, please click the link. They are pretty good blogs. **

In the last 2 months, I have also written 5 blogs for a prominent veteran publisher. They cover: my personal story, reflections on visiting the War Remnants museum in Saigon, use of airstrikes against ISIS, reflections on the biggest battle of my life in Najaf a decade ago, and a best friend who recently lost his legs in Afghanistan.

I was recently featured in a LA Times article about a project that has been developing over the past couple of years with some friends. It is a mobile, proximity-based social network made expressly for the military veteran community. Link: http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-81103071/
