So as I sit here in a coffee shop in Cape Town I wonder how in the world I will serve the Lord when I get back to the states. The materialism is overpowering and there is a complete lack of faith or at least it feels like that, but there’s hope if you just look under the surface.
I was shopping for some sandals a few minutes ago and i started talking to the young woman who was helping me. I told her I was traveling the world on a missions trip and after talking to her it turns out she’s a spirit filled charismatic believer. She’s sick of her church because they give boring sermons she said her mom could teach her, so she doesn’t go anymore. She obviously knows the Lord though and said when she gets down on her knees and prays to Jesus she feels the spirit in her, the power of God. She is 19 and still in college. She said she hopes to do something like what I’m doing when she finishes. This girl needs the power of the living God like so many other young people, and old for that matter. There is a hunger, but no one to feed them.
Our current situation in America is absolutely reflective of this girls experience here in South Africa. The Lord wants his children to walk in power and it’s time we stop trying to do this life on our own strength, submit completely to his will and do amazing things for his Kingdom. I believe the Spirit is poised to pour himself out on this current generation, we need to ready ourselves and receive. I want nothing more than to be able to hear the Lord’s voice more clearly than any other voice, and i pray that is your desire too.
If you knew you didn’t have tomorrow, what would you do for the Lord today? We are called to never, NEVER, worry about anything, but to trust completely in the Lord for everything. Can you honestly say you live like that? I want this! Ask for him to fill you with his heart and love for others and for him to restore to you the complete and overpowering joy of your salvation, please! We need to stop living for ourselves and start living for the Lord and his purposes. I love you guys! Thanks for your prayers!
