The weather broke this week and it’s been warm sunny blue skies
everyday; perfect spring days. Our children’s ministry sort of ended
abruptly at the church, so we decided to take advantage of the
weather and head to the local park where the youth of the town all
hang out. We brought our instruments in hopes of connecting through
some music, and that’s exactly what happened.
We ended up performing one or two secular songs they might know
and then played a bunch of worship songs. The kids are around 16-18
years old and they digged the music. They kept asking for one more.
It was awesome. A couple of guys showed up taking pictures, and it
turns out they go to a local Baptist church, so I gave them my
guitar to play some worship songs in Russian, which is what most
people speak here. Afterwards I played a few more and then we
started talking to them about why we are in Moldova.

After a few questions about us and why we are here, we were able
to give them the Gospel through our translator Andre. I also gave a
little bit of my testimony. They seemed very open and receptive with
a couple of engaging questions. We’ve been going to the park now for
five days (I think) building relationships with a bunch of kids. The
second day we shared the Gospel with some different guys. Most
people here know about Christ, they just don’t know about the
relationship part and rely on works to grant them salvation, which
will sadly never get them there. We’ve also been passing out cards
for the resurrection service at the Pentecostal church we’ve been
working with, and some of the kids said they would come.
This has been an awesome and fun ministry, and I’m so glad God
has given the opportunity to talk to the young adults in this area.
Last night Vinny, Andre, and I played volleyball with about twenty
of the young guys in this town; it was sick! One of the young
Baptist guys we had seen at the park gave an account of Christ’s
resurrection and read from the Bible during an intermission in
playing, it was balla! The Father is doing things here in
Vulcanesti, Moldova and it’s awesome. Please continue to pray for
the youth and churches here. Thanks for staying involved in my race
and for your support and prayers! As always, I love your thoughts,
so don’t be afraid to leave a comment! God bless!
