There are few things in the world I like discussing more than myself, so the fact that I get to sit down and write about myself, is very exciting. I will begin by getting some basic facts about me, out of the way. I am the middle of five children, four of them girls. I was born in Los Angeles, California, and have lived in Chicago, Illinois. And I currently reside in the small town of Harvard, Illinois.  People call me Dazzell.   I have a job. I love to write.  I like watching movies, and listening to AM 670, The Boers and Bernstein Show. I am a huge fan of Chicago sports (except the White Sox). I have a weird obsessions with pirates, yes pirates. My favorite food is anything with peanut butter. Some might describe me as accident prone. I enjoy a variety of music. My favorite TV show is The Office, but I also love Lost. I love winter, and I love to wear scarves. I don’t like to drive anywhere far. I know sports statistics likes its nobodies business. I love useless facts. I am a youth leader and my students are one of the biggest joys of my life.  And my dogs name is Sausage. Ok, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way…

I feel lead to a life in missions. Mainly Africa. Working with children. I became a Christian on March 23, 2002. I love the Lord, and I try to serve Him with all I have. I love to study the Bible. Not only for the spiritual meaning of scripture, but for the historical aspect of it too. I love to read about science vs. the Bible. As I’m sitting here writing this I’m trying to think of a word that best describes my passion for The Lord, and His Word, and nothing good enough comes to mind. I am by no means perfect, as you quickly learn upon meeting me. I’m not the smartest or most clever person. I can be unreasonable and stubborn. I am not the most talented person, I can’t sing, dance, draw, fix things, or play any instruments. I’m not incredibly athletic. I don’t drive well. I have poor vision, and don’t listen well. I talk too much, even when I have nothing to say. I am always distracted and cannot sit still for five minutes. And despite all these faults I God has called me to serve Him. There is a verse in the Bible I believe God thought of me, while it was written.

“Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many of you were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of this world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the wise.”

-I Cor. 1:26,27
