There was never a writing in the sky, or a loud voice that made me leap forward out of my seat. It was more of a gentle whisper and yet I didn’t even realize it at the time; I just found myself looking through the World Race website and feeling an excitement that I couldn’t ignore.
My first initial thought when I started to even consider this trip was, “my mom is going to kill me!” This trip is 11 countries in 11 months! She was worried about me leaving the country for a month at a time, I could only imagine her reaction when I was going to tell her I wanted to leave for almost a year. So, I told my sister and brother-in-law and then my dad, leaving my mom for last. The first 3 were pretty easy to tell, they looked at me like I was a little crazy, but after a little bit they were excited and already praying. Then came my mom, I eased into it as slowly as I could. Once I finally finished, she looked at me with a smile, no hesitation and said, “if that’s what God wants for you then I’m in” And that’s when I knew I could do it. He brought peace to my mom and at that moment He brought peace to me too. Yes it will be challenging and I will miss my family and friends like crazy (and my dogs), but God’s love is greater than the worry of the unknown.
Without a writing in the sky or a loud voice telling me to go, God is teaching me how to trust in Him on an even deeper level! I believe He can bring your faith and trust in Him to a whole new level as well!
I’m asking you to join me in this journey with your prayers and your financial support. I know for most of you, you just helped me be able to go to the middle east for a month, and I greatly appreciate all your support!! And now I’m asking for more, personally I feel bad and don’t know how I will raise almost $17,000, but then God gently reminds me that He is bigger. And yes this economy is bad, but He is bigger. He is bigger than the doubts in my head and the lies telling me that it can’t be done. He Is Bigger!
So I pray that you follow my blog as I embark on a crazy adventure with strangers that will soon become family and a God that is bigger than it all.
