What happen when the one thing you’ve been working hard for, and willing to risk everything for is taken away from you?

What happen when you say yes and God tells you Wait?

As you know July 4th was my launch date, the start of my 11 months mission journey with my Q squad brothers and sisters. After fallen in love with 50 plus strangers and becoming family in one week, I was looking forward to spending one year around the world with them.

I left my job.

I left my home.

I said goodbye to co-workers.

I said goodbye to family and friends.

Packed and ready to go.

I prayed and was expecting God to do His part of the bargain.

I had my own vision how this week was going to play out. July 4th , I was going to be reunited with my Q squad brothers and sisters, reunited with Untamed Passion sisters,  get debrief by the Adventures in Mission staffs, and launch out to Thailand.

When God told me wait a few days before, I’m not going to lie, but I was disappointed and sad. I asked: “But why?” “What did I do wrong?” “I don’t understand.” “What could I have done differently?”

But after some quiet time with God and conversation family and friends and my teammate, I am reminded that:

  • “God’s delay is not His denial. His wait is not His no.”
  • “Even though the timing of things might not make sense right now, rest assured that His timing is perfect and He knows what He’s doing.”
  • “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. “ Isaiah 40:31
  • “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

I was looking forward to starting my world race mission trip this week. I am definitely going to miss my squad mates and teammates, but I am looking forward to a second round of training camp next week, and meeting my new squad mates.
