I never expected to debate with myself if one week’s worth of clothing was too much for 11 months and side with “yes.” I never thought I would catch a plane on a Thursday and not arrive at my destination until Sunday. I never thought I would have to take malaria medicine as a daily ritual for 365 days. I never thought I could live out of only a backpack for 11 months. I never thought I would have to get more vaccinations than I can count on my fingers. I NEVER thought it was possible for me to raise nearly $15,000 in less than four months. I definitely NEVER thought God was going to call ME to serve as his disciple for 11 months…
But here I am, sitting in the airport, waiting to get on the plane that will fly me to Africa. God has shown me to expect the unexpected.
