Team Spice of Life has been searching for Unsung Heroes near and around Palacaguina, Nicaragua this month.  We've ventured to the countryside to see projects with water wells, building classrooms next to churches, and pastors wanting to expand their church communities.  After meeting with maybe 4 or 5 potential contacts, I've realized they all have one thing in common.

EXPANDING THE KINGDOM THROUGH THE CHILDREN.

The pastors and community leaders we've met with so far, even though they're not from the same neighborhood, all want to help the children first.  Their belief is that if they have a safe environment for the children to come to through the church, that that comfort and security in the church will expand to the parents and future children of these children.

It's always easy to have these dreams for future generations, but when you think about the time needed to invest in it, it's hard to find such dedicated individuals to really work towards these changes.  Wanting to help the next generation isn't something that happens overnight.  Many of these Unsung Heroes know that it will take many years to even start to see change, and they're okay with that.

They know that the Lord has placed them in these specific neighborhoods, in theses specific church communities for a reason. All of them know God has a plan, even though they may not know all the details of how that plan will come to be.  But they have such a peace knowing that the Lord will always provide for them.

Over the next week our team will write blogs about specific people we've met. Stay tuned to check it out.
