It’s almost time to say goodbye to Peru, and move on to Ecuador; another country, another ministry, and more people to love completely. I am looking forward to it, to see the rest of my squad again and hear their stories, and to see another part of the world, but man I’m going to miss this place. It’s an understatement to say that Peru has stolen my heart, in more ways than one, and it baffles me that in one month I have fallen so completely in love with everybody here. I am so grateful that I followed God’s call to this place, because Peru has taught me my overwhelming capacity to love and be loved, even when I don’t feel like I’m enough.
Peru has taught me that even in my imperfection and brokenness, that God is still here and will never leave my side, and that his church is a body of people who care deeply for one another, despite their pasts and the places they come from. Peru has taught me about how much I love the people back home, and how blessed I am to have them in my life. Peru has given me insight into how God loves, in the most beautiful and powerful way possible. I am scared for the journey ahead, but I know that God is here with me, and that is all I need.
