My first home on the race:
Dublin, Ireland. Our first stop where all 84 racers met for some additional training added on to the training we all had in May.
A slight detour before dinner:
After a week of training in Dublin, my team and three other teams were off to Northern Ireland to begin ministry:
My second home on the race:
First day of ministry! Preparing for VBS at “Destiny Island”
I think the kids favorite thing were the puppets. These puppets shared with the kids how special and unique God made each and every one of them
Bonding time:-)
Some of the other work we did with the church was simply handing out “lollies” to the people in the community. This was a very simple way of showing people that Jesus loves them!
We also knocked on people’s doors to see if they wanted us to wash their windows. We got in to a few conversations where we were able to pray with the people. They were all very surprised that we would be so willing to wash their windows for free.
Every Saturday the church goes out to the streets of Coleraine in front of the town hall and prays for healing. We had the opportunity of being part of this on Saturday and many of our own members recieved healing as well! Amazing God stories have happened in front of this town hall.
Other ministry opportunities we were a part of here in Coleraine included: Handing out light bulbs, cleaning toilets, working with a food drive, visiting the nursing homes, and some street evangelism.
On our day off last week, my team went surfing off the Irish coast! It was such a blast!
As a whole group we all got to go sight seeing to Giants Causeway! It was so beautiful! I think i took over 200 pictures here!
This is my family, team Petra. From Left to right:
Tim, Me, Joel, Lauren, Jennifer, Liz, and Martha. This is my small group team who I will always be traveling and ministering with. Precious men and women of God!
We leave Ireland tomorrow morning and head for Maldova. This was not part of our original route, but God changed our plans. Maldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe and we will be working there with older youth who live in a home. We will be doing Bible studies with them and building friendships. I’m not sure that I will have Internet for the time we are there, but I will do everything I can to keep you all updated. Thanks so much for your prayers and support!
