Forsaking all others

I have forsaken everything that I once knew. I have forsaken all that I once said I could never live without. I have forsaken my family, my friends, my job and my independency. I have forsaken all others except the one thing that I hold most dear, my Jesus. He keeps placing a picture in my mind. It is a picture of Him as my knight in shining armor. He is mounted on a high horse and He is wearing a glorious white robe. He has a crown on top of His head and He tenderly calls “Come away with me, Danielle” I mount up with Him on the horse. I bury my head in His robe and close my eyes tight as He leads me into a vast wilderness full of the unknown. As He begins to lead me away, He says “I will lead you into the desert, and I will speak tenderly to you… I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness.” (Hosea 2)

I am here in Coleraine, Ireland with 29 other lovers, lovers of our Lord most High. We begin each morning with worship and we close each night with worship. I can’t even explain to you what it is like worshiping with 29 other people who are so excited about the Lord! Last night I found myself laughing when I realized that we were all belching our lungs out. Nobody even cared if it sounded good or not, we were just Praising God with all that we had. I am so honored to be a part of this group. The flood gates have been opened, and God’s army is rushing through. Lives will be changed. We need prayer warriors. Satan is very aware of what God is going to do through this group, and he has tried attacking us already. Last night we had all members of our team take 30 minute increments and get up at certain times all through the night. There were two of us for each slot praying from 10 pm last night up until 7 am this morning. I’m excited to see what will happen.

During the day we are doing a VBS program for kids. The Pastor we are working with is so passionate! It is contagious for sure! He has a calling for encouraging young children to be giants in the faith no matter how old they are. He has miraculous stories of what the children in his church have prayed for and actually seen come about. It is so exciting! The VBS is so fun! I think the leaders are enjoying it just as much as the kids are. We have a big giant parachute and blow up balls. We do arts and crafts and watch puppet shows and play games. The theme incorporates throughout all the games and crafts that God created each of His children so wonderfully special, and unique, and beautiful.

During the afternoons we do something I like to call random acts of kindness. This afternoon our group went around to the different businesses and asked the shop owners if we could scrub their toilets. Later this week we will be going to different residential areas handing out light bulbs and asking if there is anything around the house that needs fixing. We will also be visiting a nursing home. But all that is yet to come, and I’m sure I will have exciting stories from those adventures later.

“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
