Dreams! Adventures! Excitement! These are all words that can describe the journey God has brought me through so far. And as I continue to follow Him, there is only more ahead. First of all I want to give all the glory to God. For everything! For my life I am about to share with you, for the opportunity to go on this mission, and for you, my friend, that is reading this blog. I was born almost 22 years ago to a wonderful mother and father and older sister in Lafayette Georgia. Since then our family has increased and I am now the second oldest of seven children (6 of whom are some of the coolest people in the world;)

This picture was taken last summer on a family vacation. The extra kid with the back pack is my older sister’s husband, who happens to be pretty cool himself;-) These people you’re looking at right here are my best friends. I love each and every one of them so much and I have been so blessed to be part of their lives.
So I was born with a big head. I had a little body, blonde hair and a big head.   It may sound funny now, but back then (way back in the day;) it was somewhat serious. I had such a big head that the doctors thought I had brain cancer. I went for an initial broad test and the results came back positive for suspicious material in my brain. I was scheduled for an MRI in two weeks which is a more detailed test of the brain. During this time my parents and grandparents were very upset. My mom and her mom were new Christians and they began to pray. My Grandmother prayed that God would heal me of any remnants of cancer so that I would be left without a trace. She also prayed that instead of taking my life, God would take hers in my place. I then went for my MRI and the results came back clean. Within six months however, my Grandmother went to be with the Lord due to cancer. Even though I don’t remember these things happening, this story always reminds me that God is all powerful and that He still has a purpose for my life.

I was homeschooled from age four all the way through high school graduation. I loved being homeschooled and I am so thankful to my wonderful mom for the countless hours she spent helping me learn things. When I was 5 years old my mom was leading us through the wordless book during Bible. This is when I asked Jesus to be my Savior. I was baptized when I was ten and went on my first mission trip at the age of 11. From the age of 11 until 17 I went on Medical trips to Central and South America every year. From these trips God placed a strong passion in my heart for serving Him on the mission field. When I was 17 we went to a Quechuan village in the Andes Mountains of Peru. Because of the prejudice attitudes of the lighter skinned Peruvians, this was the first time these people had ever been seen by a Doctor. From this trip, God called me to be a nurse.   I came back home and went to Nursing at Southern Adventist University where I will graduate in May with my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing! I am currently working as a nurse (with my AS degree) at a local hospital and although I really enjoy it, God is calling me to something else for a bit.  I don’t know if many of you have heard about this, but there’s this thing called The World Race! I heard you can find out more about it off a website or something 😉 I first heard about the world Race when I was an FYM with AIM in Mexico in 2006. I feel like this is getting a little long but let me tell you a little about how excited I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
